A course with a story
Hanna H. Farha created Practical Arabic as a course of pocket cards and accompanying tapes, built around the conversations of daily life.
The mobile edition carries that same material forward: the original lesson text and recordings, with simple tools to listen, explore, and practise. A new companion to a course with a history.
A few things to know
The course uses its original Latin-letter pronunciation notation alongside English translations. You can follow the recordings without reading Arabic script, and the app includes a key to pronunciation.
There are 50 lessons, with original recordings, dialogues, vocabulary, useful sentences, and verb notes. The app adds audio controls, phrase replay, and self-guided recall practice.
The installed mobile app includes the lessons and recordings for offline study. An initial purchase or restore needs a store connection; once access is confirmed, the unlocked course remains available offline.
No. Lessons 1–5 are free in the app. The remaining lessons are available through a one-time full-course purchase. The store will show the price in your local currency when the public app is released.
Your lesson progress and listening position are saved on your device. There is no course account or cloud sync, so progress does not automatically transfer to another device.
Practical Arabic is currently in beta. Public App Store and Google Play links will appear here when they’re available. The first five lessons will be free to explore.
